Travel
The Des Moines City Council approved travel financing for Abby Giampolo, senior police officer, to attend a course called “Interviewing and Understanding Sexual Deviant Behavior,” offered by the Public Agency Training Council Training Center earlier this year. The course aids interviewers in understanding sexual behavior, the different types of sexual paraphilias and typologies of a sex offender, what sexual deviance is and how it begins, and who is at risk. The course also looks at and explores the current research and treatment programs for convicted sex offenders. This comes at a cost of $1,252 to taxpayers. CV
