Claim settlements
The Des Moines City Council recently approved a claim settlement filed by public works employee Charlene Ramirez, who injured her right ankle while on the job. Ramirez will receive $14,672.93, authorized under Codes 529810 and PW247413.
The city council also agreed to settle a claim with library employee Jan Choda, who injured her back while working. According to the council, Choda has received a rating from the treating doctor, which the City is required by law to pay, therefore it’s the opinion of the Legal Department that the city will pay Choda $15,685.38.
