Spring is here, and summer music is around the corner. Valley Junction’s Music in the Junction kicks off its season on May 2 with The Rockets.

The Matt Woods Band, featuring Iowa Blues Hall of Famer Dwight Dario and Erich Gaukel, performs at Lefty’s Live Music on April 17.

Catch the CMT Next Women of Country at Wooly’s on May 3. The “Voice” Season 3 winner, Cassadee Pope performs, along with Clare Dunn and Hannah Ellis. Tickets range from $15-$40. Roger Clyne & The Peacemakers play Wooly’s, Thursday, April 18. The show begins at 8 p.m., $20-$22. Emo Nite LA Featuring Guest DJ Craig Owens plays at Wooly’s, Friday, April 19. The show begins at 9 p.m., $10-$12.

Got company in town for Easter? Take them to see Jana West & Retrospect on April 19 at Whiskey House and Bourbon Grill in Ankeny.

Tickets are still available for Wells Fargo musical giants Dave Matthews Band on May 14 and Kenny Chesney on May 16.

The Dead Tongues, a folk, blues, rock and country band, is touring and promoting its third album, “Unsung Passage.” Find them at Vaudeville Mews on April 12. Tickets cost $12 in advance from tikly.co.

Boz Scaggs announced his return to Hoyt Sherman Place on July 8, touting his new album, “Out of the Blues.” Tickets are available at Hoyt Sherman Place. ♦
