Enrollment is underway for the Des Moines Symphony Academy’s Summer Camps and workshops. Running from May through August, the Academy classes will cover various instruments throughout the summer months, and children of all ages are welcome. For more information, head over to www.dmsymphony.org.

The Pick o’ the Week is at Vaudeville Mews on Friday, May 16. Head over there pretty much any time in the evening to catch the River Monks record release party. The band has two shows booked that day, with the early show featuring Dylan Sires & Neighbors and GoodcaT, and the late show including Land of Blood and Sunshine and Har-di-Har. Both shows are $7 to get in, with the early (all-ages) show kicking off at 5:45 p.m., and the late show starting at 10 p.m. Mahalo. CV
