STICK THAT IN YOUR PIPE

Police were called to the 3500 block of B. Dubuque Avenue at 2 p.m. on May 12 regarding an assault. They met with the victim who said he had been living with the suspect who asked him to hotwire a Harley and steal it. When he refused, he said the suspect started hitting him with a steel pipe. Although the victim refused to divulge the suspect’s name, he did provide officers with information about narcotic activity as well as multiple vehicles being stolen and stripped in the garage.

UNARMED AND OUTNUMBERED

A man called police around 9:40 p.m. on May 12 and said he had been robbed at gunpoint by three 18- to 20-year-old men. He said he was walking by Linn’s Supermarket when someone threw a rock at his foot. When he turned around, the three guys were standing there. One put a pistol into his chest and demanded his money. So he gave up all the cash he had in his pocket.

DON’T TAKE RIDES FROM STRANGERS

Police were called at just after midnight on May 14 by a man who was robbed at gun point by an unidentified man on East Douglas Avenue and Cornell. He said he was walking on East Douglas when the suspect offered him a ride. After the vehicle reached the Cornell four-way stop, the suspect pulled out two handguns and threatened the victim. After relinquishing $130 from his pocket, the victim was then dropped off at the East Douglas and Columbia intersection. The suspect is said to have had two black revolver-like handguns, one with a pearl handle. CV
