There’s a lot of young, artistic talent in our community,” said Heather Plum, Veridian’s ArtShare coordinator. “ArtShare gives us a chance to recognize that talent. By displaying it in our branch, we’re sharing it with our members and making our branch a more welcoming space. Everybody wins.” Veridian has two-dimensional pieces professionally framed and displays them in the branch for one year, then returns them to the school.
In total, ten schools’ art department leaders selected 140 pieces ranging from oil on canvas to graphic design, jewelry, pottery and more. Exhibits are on display at select Veridian branches in Ankeny, Cedar Rapids, Coralville, Waterloo and Waverly.
