OUT TO LUNCH SERIES RETURNS MAY 18

Downtown residents and employees can enjoy food vendors and entertainment on four dates this spring and summer.

DOWNTOWN DES MOINES, IOWA – The Downtown Community Alliance has announced the return of Out to Lunch, scheduled for four dates in late spring and summer. Out to Lunch will feature food trucks and vendors along with live music from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on the following dates and at the following locations:

Thursday, May 18 on Walnut Street between Sixth Avenue and Seventh Street. This event is sponsored by Wells Fargo. Randy Burk & The Prisoners will provide live country music.

Wednesday, May 31 at Western Gateway Park on 13th Street between Locust Street and Grand Avenue. This event is sponsored by Hubbell Apartment Living. David Zollo will provide live music with a mix of styles including blues, country and more.

Thursday, June 15 on Walnut Street between Eighth and Ninth Streets. This event is sponsored by Hubbell Apartment Living. The Zachary Freedom Duo will provide live music with a mix of styles including blues, country, rock and more.

Thursday, July 13 at Western Gateway Park on 13th Street between Locust Street and Grand Avenue. This event is sponsored by Hubbell Apartment Living. North of Grand will provide live rock-style music.

Out to Lunch, which is free and open to the public, creates a fun experience for Downtown employees and residents to mix, meet and mingle with others in a vibrant Downtown setting with live music, food and more. Out to Lunch features a variety of street food available for purchase. Food vendors at the first event on May 18 will include Karam’s Grill, Miss Molly’s Jamaican Patty, 515 Pi, Say Cheese and Patton’s. The food lineup for the final three events will be announced in the coming weeks.

Out to Lunch is produced by the Downtown Community Alliance, which is part of the Greater Des Moines Partnership.
