Commons Off The Clock Launches the Summer on May 19

4/3/2017

Des Moines, IA – Downtown Des Moines is getting the biggest happy hour in the metro – Commons Off The Clock – starting May 19, 2017, bringing bands, brews, and bites to Cowles Commons on select Fridays this summer. This new event is a chance for Des Moines area residents to unwind, meet-up, and have fun as they leave work behind, and prepare for a weekend of enjoying all that the Des Moines Metro has to offer.

Inspired by the classic ‘Seniom Sed,’ which brought people together to launch the weekend in the 1980’s and 90’s, Commons Off The Clock presented by Des Moines Performing Arts and the Des Moines Radio Group will put its own twist on happy hour. The event will feature Des Moines’ favorite local food trucks, beers, and live music from the best bands in the region – and admission is free. Revelers just need to bring a few bucks to enjoy great food and drinks.

Commons Off The Clock, sponsored by Kum & Go, will launch with a special daylong festival of music and fun on Friday, May 19 starting at 11 a.m. and running until 7:30 p.m. Then the event will move to its regular time – 4 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on select Fridays through October 23, 2017.

Commons Off The Clock is presented by Des Moines Performing Arts and the Des Moines Radio Group, the Presenting Sponsor is Kum & Go and live music is Sponsored by Prairie Meadows.
