The Des Moines City Council recently approved Detective Denise Schafnitz to travel to Austin, Texas, from Dec. 2 – 6, to attend a Principles of Fraud Examination course sponsored by the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners. The course offers basic training in fraud examination which is said to enhance investigative skills, resulting in higher quality case investigations and improved court testimony.
