Scotty and the Wingtips was formed in1989 to host a jam night at a local bar and been playing ever since. The wingtips have opened for Jr.Wells, Lonnie Brooks,Eddie Clearwater to name a few. We have played in 12 Iowa blues competitions. Made the finals twice and the top 5 five times. The horns were added in about 98 and they really add punch to the band. Scotty, Mike and Ernie been playing together since day one, and to keep the same core for 23 years is what really drives this band.We have played most all the establishments in central Iowa plus fairs, weddings, birthdays,you name itand we probably played it.Scotty and the Wingtips is the longest running blues band in Des Moines, Iowa. and hope to make it another 23 years.
