The Des Moines City Council approved travel expenses for Crime Scene Investigators Benjamin Campbell and Alisha Rankin to visit Long Beach, California, from Jan. 4-17, 2015. They will participate in a field evidence technician course sponsored by California State University, Center for Justice Research and Training. The course is intended to produce an understanding of fundamental theories and applications. It will provide training in legal aspects of physical evidence, photography, crime scene searches, casting, fingerprints, blood work, trace evidence, firearms, DNA collection and processing, cell phones and digital evidence. This comes at a total cost of $5,746 to taxpayers. CV
