Travel

The Des Moines City Council recently approved senior plumbing inspector Don Hansen and senior mechanical inspector Mike Minnick to travel to Kansas City, Mo., from Sept. 29–Oct. 4, to attend the International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials annual education and business conference. The conference is said to offer firsthand knowledge of the development process of the plumbing code changes, with discussions that describe the need for the change. It also promises to provide information to assist the adoption process for the 2012 Uniform Plumbing Code with the State of Iowa. This travel expense will cost local tax payers a total of $3,520.70 for both men. CV
