Head to Jasper Winery, 2400 George Flagg Parkway, Des Moines, on Aug. 27 for a concert featuring Phoenix Mendoza, Josh Leo and Kitty Steadman. The free concert benefits Mary’s Meals, which helps feed children in the poorest countries. In addition to the concert, the family-friendly event offers kids activities and food available for a free will donation.

The indie rock band The Crane Wives are continuing their summer tour, performing a concert at Wooly’s, 504 E. Locust St., Des Moines, on Aug. 13. Their high-energy performances have been described as “charged with emotion and technical skill” while their harmony-dense melodies support deeply resonant lyrics. Landyn Zane, a “DIY” pop artist, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Cedar Rapids, released his latest EP, “Coming Attractions,” on July 31. Zane crafted the cover art, posters and outfits similar to a movie premiere. He has recorded four EPs and earned a nomination for Top Pop Artist at the Iowa Music Awards. The Simon Estes Ampitheater, 75 W. Locust St., Des Moines, has reopened after nearby bridge renovations closed the spot in 2018. They are offering a free concert series, Vibes in the Village with Brian Herrin, on Aug. 22 from noon to 5 p.m. ♦
