The year 2024 is over. What’s in store for 2025? On a cold winter evening, it’s easy to binge watch the winter away. Instead, bundle up and head over to one of the hot live music venues in Des Moines.

Vibrant Music Hall in Waukee is the place to be for R&B music. On Feb. 8, R&B ONLY LIVE is a live music experience produced by COLORS Worldwide. It’s a DJ-driven event where audiences sing, dance and enjoy a nostalgic journey through R&B music’s greatest hits and modern favorites. Tickets start at $41. www.vibrantmusichall.com/shows.

Val Air Ballroom features Ella Langley’s “Still Hungover Tour” on Jan. 31. A country artist who recently debuted at the Grand Ole Opry, Langley sings hits such as “If You Have To” and “Damn You.” Tickets available at www.axs.com.

Hoyt Sherman Place is the place to be for Guster on Feb. 4. Guster, an alt-rock band, brings its “We Also Have Eras” tour. The show takes audiences on a chronological journey through the band’s 30-year evolution, album by album, complete with theatrical sketches and Swift-like costume changes. Tickets $21-$41 at https://hoytsherman.org.
