PorchFest DSM is back for its second year. PorchFest consists of 23 musicians playing on various porches in the Union Park area. The concerts take place Sunday, Sept. 10 from noon to 5 p.m. Musicians include Matt Woods, Abby Sawyer, Dickie and more. The concerts are free; wear your walking shoes and bring cash to tip the musicians. For a complete lineup of musicians and a porch map, visit www.porchfestdsm.org. 

Drew Holcomb and The Neighbors are touring, making a stop at Wooly’s on Sept. 19. They’ll perform their No. 1 Americana Radio single “Find Your People,” as well as other songs. The opening band is Josiah and the Bonnevilles. Tickets are $25, plus fees.

Adventureland’s Oktoberfest offers up various stages with live music, beer and rollercoaster rides for this 21-plus event on Sept. 16. Main stage acts include Pork Tornadoes, Mallrats and Not Quite Brothers. Other musicians include Jager and the Polkameisters, Toaster, Casey Muesigmann, The Sheet, Mike Moody and the Outlaws, Tyler Richton and The High Bank Boys and Pianopalooza. Cost is $40 or free for platinum and gold season ticket holders.

Local country singer and songwriter Royce Johns dropped a new record, “Thank Ya Kindly,” which is available on all streaming platforms. Catch his music live Sept. 8 at Beer Can Alley, Sept. 15 at Middlebrook Farms, and Sept. 16 at Reclaimed Rails. ♦
