The British Kingdom Choir, which sang at the royal wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, brings its unique renditions of top hits and gospel classics to Stephens Auditorium in Ames on Oct. 7. Tickets cost $25-$50 at the Iowa State Center box office or Ticketmaster. Judah and the Lion, an alternative band from Nashville, brings its Pep Talks World Tour to the Val Air Ballroom on Nov. 1. General admission tickets start at $35, available from Ticketmaster. Scott Smith, a legendary local pianist and singer, celebrates 60 years of music at Noce on Oct. 18, with Ann-Margaret, an iconic recording and film star, and, on Oct. 11, with his trio. Tickets start at $20. Donovan Woods, Canadian folk and country singer, recently nominated for a Canadian Juno Songwriter of the Year award, performs at Wooly’s on Oct. 10. Also performing is alternative country star Ruston Kelly. Tickets cost from $15-$18; available from Eventbrite. It’s never too early to plan for New Year’s Eve. Prairie Meadows announced its pre-NYE experience on Dec. 28, featuring the Classic Rock Experience, a 1970s arena rock tribute band. Tickets start at $15, plus fees; day of show $20. ♦
