12/6/2017Celebrate the season with Christopher the Conquered and friends for his third annual “A Conquered Christmas” at The Basement in the Des Moines Social Club on Thursday, Dec. 7 at 7 p.m. This is part of Iowa Public Radio’s Studio One Underground series and will be broadcast live. The event is free with a suggested donation of $5. The merriment continues with Karen Meat for “A Karen Meat Christmas” at the Vaudeville Mews on Saturday, Dec. 16. At least a dozen other local acts will be on hand for the occasion. The doors open at 6 p.m. and the show starts at 7 p.m. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at the door or online at www.vaudevillemews.com. Catch the classic “A Charlie Brown Christmas,” played by Peter Roberts and Friends at Noce. Three performances will take place: Thursday, Dec. 21 at 7 p.m.; and Saturday Dec. 23 at 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. Tickets are $14 and can be purchased online at www.nocedsm.com. Chill out with some modern funk, roots and soul provided by regional favorites Euforquestra on Saturday, Dec. 23 at Wooly’s.
