Sound Notes

Everyone knows how I love a good band name, so my interest was piqued when I saw Embryonic Devourment was coming to Vaudeville Mews this week. However, according to the band’s lead singer, the show was canceled “weeks ago,” and he has no idea why the venue is still advertising it. Perhaps we’ll meet on some other day, Embryonic Devourment.

This week’s Pick o’ the Week is down at Gas Lamp on Sat, Jan. 30, where you can check out The Other Brothers, Stutterin’ Jimmy and Origami Animals and pick up your own copy of The Other Brothers’ “Live at Gas Lamp” album. Admission is $7 at the door, and the show starts at 9 p.m. Mahalo. CV
