Des Moines Performing Arts announced the winners of its “Bridges Covered” contest, where local acts were encouraged to cover one of the songs from the “Bridges of Madison County” musical. The Brazilian 2Wins had the winning entry, and was awarded with a recording session at the Alexander Recording Company in Ames.

The Des Moines Gay Men’s Chorus has announced the dates for this year’s Christmas program as Dec. 18 and Dec. 19 at First Methodist Church. Tickets are $20 in advance and can be purchased at www.dmgmc.org.
