ABUSIVE BURGLARS

A home invasion was reported on Feb. 24 at 10:17 p.m. Police responded to a call from the 1300 block of Fremont Street. According to witnesses, three men entered the home and began harassing a group of children who were in the residence. The intruders threatened them with a BB gun and beat one resident with a bat. The residents reported a missing X-Box and cash stolen during the invasion. The suspects remain at large.

CUTTING COUSINS

CNA - Stop HIV Iowa

At 4:40 p.m. on Feb. 24, a young man reported a fight between him and his cousin on the 1400 block of Idaho Street. The victim said his cousin cut his face with a knife, but he did not wish to press charges. The suspect was not immediately identified.

EXCYTING CLUE

A burglary was reported on the 4400 block of Southwest Second Street at 8 a.m. on Feb. 23. One resident was home asleep at the time of the incident and said the only thing that seemed strange was an Iowa State beanie he found. It was peculiar because both residents of the home are Hawkeye fans. Upon further investigation, they discovered missing electronics, including a Macbook.

SPAT WITH A SPATULA

Police were called to Mainstream Living, a residential facility, around 9:15 p.m. on a report of an assault with a weapon. Upon arrival, staff told police that one resident began fighting another. The fight began with several items being thrown, including blankets and a social security card. The fight escalated when the suspect attacked a resident with a spatula causing lacerations to the face. The suspect was arrested. CV
