WAKE UP CALL

Police responded to a residence at the 1600 block of East Virginia Avenue just before 5 a.m. on Feb. 11. The victim there said she pressed the button to open the garage door and walked to the driver’s side of her car, when a man in a ski mask popped up and demanded her keys. She screamed and ran inside to call 911. Police followed the prints in the snow, but there were too many to track. The vehicle had a broken window and steering column. Gloves, a pry bar and various screwdrivers were found inside the car, but nothing was missing.

‘IT’S THAT TIME!’

Police were called to the 1500 block of East Ninth Street just after 11:30 p.m. on Feb. 10 regarding a burglary/home invasion. The 19-year-old victim had a few friends and his toddler at his home. He was awaiting another friend to arrive to give him a ride. When someone knocked on his door, he answered it to find a .38 revolver in his face. The suspect screamed, “It’s that time!” He and another suspect barged in demanding everyone empty their pockets, but the victim was the only one possessing anything. He handed over his wallet, and one of the suspects pistol-whipped him five times in the face before leaving. CV
