ON THE NAUGHTY LIST

A 15-year-old North High School student was arrested at the 1400 block of East Grand after he assaulted his mother while a passenger in the vehicle she was driving. The two started arguing while driving on Guthrie Avenue around 6:30 p.m. when the boy punched her in the side of the face three time then ran away after the vehicle was stopped. Cops picked him up shortly after.

MOM/DAUGHTER DISPUTE

CNA - Stop HIV Iowa

A woman called police on her 34-year-old daughter for assault with a weapon. The victim went to where her daughter is staying at the 1500 block of Royer Street at about 10:45 a.m. demanding that her daughter return her cell phone and house key. They started yelling and screaming at each other, and that’s when the suspect got out a pocketknife and waived it at her several times. It was unclear if the blade was ever extended or not. The victim went home to call the police. Her cell phone and keys were returned to her.

JEWELS FOR METH

A woman called police to her home at the 3200 block of Seneca Avenue just before 4 p.m., after she discovered an $8,000 ring was missing from her lock box safe. She told police she suspected her 19-year-old son had taken it and pawned it to feed his meth habit. She said she had found the ring at A to Z Pawn priced at $1,450, which was brought into the store last May. The ring has been taken out of circulation until police can determine who had pawned it.
