ANYTHING HELPS… LIKE A JOB
Police came across a man and woman standing alongside Interstate 235 eastbound at the East 14th Street exit ramp at 2 p.m. on Sept. 23. The man was holding a sign which read: “Have no money, pregnant. Anything helps.” The man told police the woman was pregnant, and they were soliciting for monetary donations because they had no other way of getting money. Both were arrested.
COP ACCUSED OF RAPE
Police were called to Mercy Medical Center on Sept. 22 at 8:30 a.m. where two Polk County detention officers were guarding a 23-year-old Davenport woman who had been arrested the day before. She had told jail officers that she had been sexually assaulted by a Des Moines police officer “at an unknown location and time.” She claimed to still have the cop’s semen inside her. A rape kit was performed on the woman, and she was returned to jail. The DMPD report was filed per Victim Services instructions.
BLOODY FAMILY FEUD
Police arrested two men just after 2 p.m. on Sept. 23 after the victim reported they had attacked him at Dilley Manufacturing, 4712 Brookview Drive. The suspects were the victim’s brother- and nephew-in-law, who reportedly beat him up over a dispute about one of them being added to the family business payroll. The victim was treated at the hospital. CV
