A homeless man called an officer to the 600 block of East University to report an alleged robbery on June 3 at 2 a.m. He claimed that the City of Des Moines was plotting against him and would not help last month when his medication and $20,000 worth of art supplies were stolen. Although he claimed to having been robbed of medication, beaten and “pistol whipped” by an assailant, the officer observed no visible injury.

BLAME IT ON THE UGLY PEOPLE

A woman called police after she made little profit at her garage sale at the 1400 block of Wilson. She told police she received two fake $20 bills on June 2 at 1:15 p.m. and that she thinks the suspects were a white man with tattoos and a cast on his arm and a white woman with a partially shaved head that exposed a scar. The bills were given to the Des Moines Police Department. The suspected couple left in a black car.

ELECTRIC COOL DOWN

A man called officers after he was reportedly jumped in the parking lot outside of his apartment building at the 2100 block of King Avenue on June 2 just after 2:30 a.m. He stated that he was walking outside to cool down from an argument with his girlfriend when three men drove next to him in a dark sedan. As the car drove by him, another man came from an unknown apartment and stopped him. The victim stated that one of the men tased him as the other three attacked him. The suspects have yet to be found. CV
