2023 URBANDALE 4TH OF JULY – DISCOVER THE DIFFERENCE
6/5/2023[URBANDALE, IOWA, June 5th] – Join us for our 68th anniversary and Discover the Difference! Festivities kick off Sunday, July 2 at Lions Park beginning 12:00 PM with the midway, carnival, and multiple vendors for everyone in the family to enjoy. Activities continue through Tuesday, July 4 and will conclude with our fireworks display at Walker Johnston Park at 10:00 PM.
Live music at the Beverage Garden begins Sunday with performances by Jana West and RetroSpect (1:00 PM) and Swing Crew (8:00 PM). It continues on Monday with performances by Kelsie James (2:00 PM) and Standing Hampton (8:00 PM). DJ Dreams Unlimited will keep the party going Sunday and Monday from 4:00 PM to 7:30 PM at the Gazebo.
July 4 gets started early with the William Courtney 5K and Coach Gary Page kids’ run at Walker Johnston Park. It continues with the metro’s biggest parade beginning at 70th and Douglas, continuing down to 70th and Aurora, and concluding at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church at 83rd and Aurora. Stake your spot early because it’s sure to be packed!
Festivities conclude July 4 with the largest fireworks display we’ve had to date in Urbandale. It begins 10:00 PM at Walker Johnston Park. In the event of rain or inclement weather, fireworks will be held on Wednesday, July 5 at 10:00 PM. Get there early and celebrate the 4th with a bang!
