1933 Packard Convertible Victoria wins Best of Show at 2022 Des Moines Concours d’Elegance

The Des Moines Concours d’Elegance to benefit Children’s Cancer Connection awarded Best of Show to a 1933 Packard Convertible Victoria on Sunday, September 11, 2022. The car led a field of more than 150 vehicles that included two Star Cars, a 1961 Mercedes-Benz 300SL Roadster and a 1955 Austin-Healey 100S, plus the annual favorite, the Iowa State University’s Eliana Solar Car. Other Star Cars included a 1890 Morrison Surrey Replica and a 1953 Bump Custom handcrafted fiberglass car.

The Packard Convertible Victoria is owned by Jeff and Rebecca Schreiner of Mondovi, Wisconsin. This 1933 Packard Convertible Victoria is one of five built. Sold on August 5th, 1933 to the famous actor Maurice Chevalier, this car has not been seen since the 1940s. After a complete restoration and being accepted to Pebble Beach, the owners chose to make its inaugural showing at the Des Moines Concours d’Elegance.

The Des Moines Concours benefits Children’s Cancer Connection, which connects families facing childhood cancer by providing programs for education, recreation and support. Awards at this year’s Concours were presented by kids involved in Children’s Cancer Connection. In the last seven years, the Des Moines Concours has raised more than $175,000 to the organization.
