Terrace Hill to Re-Open for Tours on March 1, 2022

Terrace Hill, Iowa Governor’s Residence and National Historic Landmark, will open for the tour season on March 1, 2022. Guided tours are offered Tuesdays through Saturdays at 10:30 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. During the guided tour, guests will see the Carriage House, the first and second floors of the residence, and in the late spring and summer, the historic gardens.

All visitors are required to make a reservation at least 48 hours prior to the desired tour time by calling 515-281-7205. Admission is $5 for adult guests ages 13+ and $2 for guests ages 6-12. Admission is free for children ages 5 and under. Admission must be paid by cash or check only. Tours last approximately one hour and begin in the Carriage House. Terrace Hill is an accessible facility. Arrangements to use the handicap accessible entrance can be made with the Terrace Hill staff member taking the reservation.

Terrace Hill is also a great destination for school and class field trips. School group tours are scheduled during regular touring hours and are free for students. School groups receive one free adult admission per 10 students. Call 515-281-7205 to schedule a school group tour.
