Windsor Windows & Doors Building New Facility in Norwalk, Iowa

Norwalk, Iowa, May 19, 2017 – Norwalk City Council has approved a development agreement with Windsor Windows & Doors, a leading brand of residential windows and patio doors. The company plans to build a new, state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Norwalk, Iowa on Highway 28 and Delaware Street.

The planned 160,000 square-foot facility will house the production of windows and patio doors. Construction is scheduled to begin in July of 2017. Windsor’s new facility will be located on 27 acres of land in Norwalk, in Warren County, just south of West Des Moines. The additional property will accommodate future expansion for the company.

Hollie Askey, Norwalk’s Economic Development Director stated that the company’s expansion into Norwalk is another sign of the overall economic health and rapid growth of the entire Des Moines Metro area. “Norwalk is an incredibly active area for development right now and the City’s investment into infrastructure and a ‘State Certified Site’ is now paying off in phenomenal ways. The City of Norwalk was able to create an aggressive and beneficial incentives package. The full package includes Tax Increment Financing, a Norwalk High Quality Jobs Grant, Warren County Economic Development grant, and roadway improvement assistance through Warren County.”

The new Norwalk, Iowa, location will be Windsor’s fourth manufacturing facility in the U.S. Windsor currently operates two other manufacturing facilities in West Des Moines, Iowa, and one in Monroe, North Carolina.
