Pulitzer Prize Winner to be Honored at Water Event

5/10/2017

Des Moines – Recent Pulitzer Prize winner, Art Cullen, will be among four honored at Pro H2O – Thirsty for Change, an event hosted by the Iowa Environmental Council on June 1, 2017 at The Science Center of Iowa.

Cullen received the Pulitzer Prize for a series of ten editorials focused on the trail of money funding the legal defense of Sac, Buena Vista and Calhoun counties in the Des Moines Water Works Lawsuit. The names of donors to this defense fund were being kept secret, and The Storm Lake Times worked persistently with the Iowa Freedom of Information Council to reveal the funding sources.

Pro H20 – Thirsty for Change will also recognize conservation leaders Liz Garst, Franklin Codel on behalf of the Wells Fargo Green Team and RDG Planning and Design for their continued commitment to Iowa’s environment.

What: Fourth Annual Pro H2O – Thirsty for Change

When: Thursday, June 1, 2017, 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
