Three Des Moines Performing Arts Invested Shows Receive Tony Award Nominations DMPA Announces Tony Awards Watch Party

DES MOINES, IA ― The Broadway League and The American Theatre Wing announced the 2017 Tony Award Nominations on Tuesday, May 2 at 7:30 a.m. CST live from New York. Des Moines Performing Arts (DMPA) has invested in three nominated shows as part of the Independent Presenters Network (IPN), a consortium of 40 leading Broadway presenters, theaters and performing arts centers. Nominated shows DMPA has invested in include DEAR EVAN HANSEN, HELLO, DOLLY! and WAR PAINT. Nominations for each show are as follows:

In total, DMPA investments represent 23 Tony Award nominations. The 71^st annual Tony Awards telecast will air live on CBS on Sunday, June 11 at 7 p.m. CST.

DMPA announced the organization’s annual Tony Awards Watch Party will take place on Sunday, June 11 on Cowles Commons. The public is invited to this free event where food truck fare, beer and other beverages will be available for purchase. Vendors will begin selling food and beverages at 5 p.m. and the Tony Awards telecast will begin at 7 p.m. Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs.
