ANKENY ANNOUNCES 2017 SUMMERFEST THEME

The Ankeny Chamber of Commerce recently announced the 2017 theme for Ankeny’s annual SummerFest celebration. The theme, Heroes Unite, pays a special tribute to our known heroes (Police, Fire, EMT/Medical, Educators, etc.) while reminding the entire community that everyone can be a hero in their own way.

SummerFest is the annual four-day community celebration, the largest in the metro area, from Thursday, July 6, at 5 PM through Sunday, July 9. Traditional highlights include a carnival, grand parade, kiddie parade, Cardboard Boat Regatta, “Miss 16” Contest, Sunday Family Fun Day, an Entertainment Garden with live music each night and a firework finale on Sunday evening. New this year: Ankeny Can Dance!

With only three months remaining until SummerFest begins, hundreds of local volunteers and Ankeny Area Chamber staff are hard at work planning and promoting the annual event that affects 50,000 people over 4 days. Learn more about SummerFest on their new website: www.ankenysummerfest.org.
