Polk County Board of Supervisors, Polk County Community, Family & Youth Services, and DMARC Celebrate New Food Pantry with Ribbon Cutting

4/24/2017

DES MOINES, Iowa — The Polk County Board of Supervisors, Polk County Community, Family & Youth Services, and Des Moines Area Religious Council (DMARC) are excited to announce a new food pantry near the heart of Des Moines, located at 3010 Sixth Avenue, in the newly constructed Polk County Northside Community Center. Community leaders committed to ending hunger in the county will celebrate the new pantry’s opening with a ribbon cutting and open house on Wednesday, April 26 at 3:30 p.m.

Members of the media are invited to join organizers for the official ribbon cutting and open house. In addition, several Polk County Supervisors will be on-hand prior to the ceremony for media interviews. As part of the Partnership for a Hunger-Free Polk County, this pantry will help reduce the number of individuals and families who go hungry in Polk County.
