Law Enforcement Torch Run Holds Half Marathon and 5k Event April 22

Grimes, IA – Join Special Olympics Iowa (SOIA) and the Law Enforcement Torch Run for a Half Marathon and 5k and Saturday, April 22 at Banner Lakes at Summerset Park in Carlisle. All proceeds from this event directly benefit Special Olympics Iowa athletes.

Participants can register for either the half marathon (13.1 miles) or the 5k (3.1 miles) online. The half marathon will begin at 8 a.m., while the 5k will start at 9:10 a.m. Each registrant will receive a long sleeve shirt.

This event is one of many fundraisers held by the Law Enforcement Torch Run Committee for Special Olympics Iowa. The Law Enforcement Torch Run® is the largest grassroots fundraiser and public awareness vehicle for Special Olympics. Other events held in Iowa include Polar Plunges, Cop on Top, Tip a Cop, and the World’s Largest Truck Convoy.
