Homicide Investigation — UPDATE

On 11 April 2017, at approximately 9:18 p.m., Des Moines Police Department patrol officers responded to the area of the 2800 block of Beaver Avenue to investigate a report of a shooting. The Des Moines Police Department Communication Center also received multiple calls from residents who reported hearing gunfire.

Officers arrived to the scene at 2805 Beaver Avenue and found two adult males suffering from gunshot injury. Both victims were transported by Des Moines Fire Department rescue personnel to local hospitals. One of those victims has died as a result of his injury.

Des Moines Police Department detectives are investigating this incident. Several witnesses have been transported to the police station for interviews. The Des Moines Police Department Crime Scene Investigation Unit is processing the scene for evidence.

This is the 10^th homicide of 2017.
