Your best shots

We learned years ago from a master photographer who told us that a photo opportunity exists around every corner. Those who live their lives behind the lens know this to be true. Even so, finding that great subject, the perfect lighting and the proper angle are what separate the professionals from the amateurs. Some beautiful images have come from iPhones with the help of Photoshop, but the true masterpieces are still shot in much the same way Ansel Adams, Ann Geddes and Annie Leibovitz created theirs. Photography is a simple yet perplexingly complex form of art, and today’s photographers are proving to be some of the most talented artists of their time. In this issue of Cityview, we share the work of some local artists who took their “best shots” for our annual photography challenge.
