New Year’s Eve is on a Tuesday, and local clubs and venues are gearing up to celebrate 2025. 

Ring in the New Year with Jana West and RetroSpect at the Sherwood Forest Event Center for a “Retro New Year’s Eve Bash.” Tickets cost $25. 

Val Air Ballroom is another place to celebrate New Year’s Eve with headliner The Pork Tornadoes. Also performing is Bad Friends along with DJ Nick Nystrom. Tickets are $25 plus fees.

Doc’s Lounge in Johnston features the band Suede for its NYE celebration.

Looking for some funk, soul and R&B to kick off the new year? The Get Down plays Mickey’s Irish Pub in Waukee on Dec. 31.

Waukee is also the spot for NYE with the Dick Danger Band playing at Kenny’s Garage. Plan on lead singer Richard Lloyd (a.k.a. Dick Danger) partying like it’s 1999 and playing iconic Prince songs.

Country singer Jesse Gutierres, with Jesse and The Medicine Men, released a new album, “Little Tortilla.” The title track is a swampy, disco rodeo clown tune.
