Blank Park Zoo Tiger Picks Kansas City to Win the Big Game

DES MOINES, Iowa (February 4, 2025) – In a fierce and calculated decision, Misha, Blank Park Zoo’s 13-year-old Amur tiger, has predicted that the Kansas City Chiefs will come out on top in the Big Game this Sunday in New Orleans.

As part of a special enrichment activity, Misha was presented with two boxes, each decorated with the names and colors of the competing teams and filled with one of her favorite treats. After a brief moment of contemplation, and sniffing out the competition, Misha first approached the Kansas City Chiefs. She then confidently threw the Eagles to the side before destroying the Kansas City box, signaling her pick.

“Misha has sharp instincts especially when it comes to picking a winner,” said Blank Park Zoo spokesperson Alex Payne. “In 2022, Misha went against her species when she correctly predicted that the Los Angeles Rams would beat the Cincinnati Bengals. In fact, our animals have a strong track record of predicting the Big Game, with 11 correct picks in the last 14 years.”

While the selection is all in good fun, animal enrichment plays an important role in the care of animals at Blank Park Zoo. These activities engage the animals mentally and physically, providing stimulation that mimics natural behaviors.
