Travel
The Des Moines City Council approved travel funding for GIS Manager Anna Whipple to visit Newark, New Jersey, from March 8-20, 2016. Whipple will attend the first of three meetings necessary to complete the Certified Government Chief Information Officers Program, which is a 12-month course that lays the foundation for assessing and addressing some of the most critical issues facing IT leadership in the public sector. The program aims to equip leaders with the requisite tools to manage and improve their organizational technology assets. Topics covered include IT governance, project management and risk assessment and management. This comes at a cost of $4,488 to local taxpayers. CV
