The Des Moines City Council approved travel funding for Finance Director Dan Ritter to visit Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, from Oct. 25-30. Ritter attended a Fundamentals of Public Finance Seminar presented by Public Financial Management. The seminar provided an overview of current concepts in municipal debt markets, bond proceed investments, arbitrage and debt structuring. It also allowed attendees to meet with peers from around the country to discuss the capital and municipal debt markets. This came at a cost of $2,297 to local taxpayers. CV
