Des Moines Arts Festival Earns 20 Prestigious Awards

(Des Moines, IA) – The Des Moines Arts Festival® received international recognition from the International Festivals & Events Association (IFEA), earning 20 distinguished awards during the organization’s Annual Convention & Expo in Tucson, Arizona. Highlighting the honors was the induction of Des Moines Arts Festival Executive Director Stephen King into the IFEA Hall of Fame, one of the highest distinctions in the global festivals and events industry.

 

The Hall of Fame represents the organization’s highest individual honor and recognizes professionals whose careers have made a lasting impact on the festivals and events industry. With more than 35 years of leadership experience, King has established himself as one of the profession’s most respected innovators and advocates.

 

In addition to King’s Hall of Fame induction, the Des Moines Arts Festival received 20 awards in the IFEA Pinnacle Awards competition, one of the most respected and competitive recognition programs in the events industry. The Pinnacle Awards celebrate excellence in festival and event communications, marketing, programming, operations, and community engagement.

 

The professional competition drew entries from some of the world’s top festivals and events. In addition to the Des Moines Arts Festival, winning entries came from organizations as diverse as the Pasadena Tournament of Roses (CA), Norfolk Festevents (VA), Canada Place Corporation (Canada), Fáilte Ireland/Púca Festival (Ireland), Vivid Sydney (Australia), Boryeong Mud Festival (South Korea), and many more.

 

Pinnacle awards were presented in various budget categories, and the gold, silver, and bronze levels. Des Moines Arts Festival received awards in the following categories:
