Beaverdale Fall Festival Hosting Free Movie Night & Highlighting Park Improvement Project

7/11/2023

Beaverdale, Iowa – The Beaverdale Fall Festival is hosting a free outdoor movie night on Friday, July 21st in collaboration with the Beaverdale Neighborhood Association and benefitting the Beaverdale Park improvement project.

Neighbors from across the Des Moines metro are invited to bring their lawn chairs and blankets for a viewing of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever starting at 6:30 PM in Beaverdale Park located at 3333 Adams Avenue. The movie night event is free to attend and all ages are welcome.

Free-will donations will be accepted during the event with all proceeds going toward the Beaverdale Park improvement project which, as part of the approved master plan, aims to redevelop the playground; restore woodland and waterway areas; add new trails and update existing trails to improve accessibility; and create new gathering areas within the nearly 25-acre park. Work on the project is expected to begin in 2024.

“While the Beaverdale Fall Festival is our primary focus each year, the festival board is also working to provide smaller family-friendly events throughout the year,” said Beaverdale Fall Festival board member and movie night organizer Kimberley Strope-Boggus. “Events like our upcoming movie night not only help to bring the community together, they also allow the Beaverdale Fall Festival board to give back to our neighborhood by highlighting and raising money for projects and organizations that directly impact our families, friends, and neighbors.”

The movie night will include several food trucks on site selling a variety of food items, treats, and beverages to attendees.
