32nd Annual Iowa Amputee Golf Tournament July 7-9
7/6/2023Share with your audience that the Iowa Amputee Golf Association’s (IAGA) 32nd annual golf tournament is Sat., July 8 and Sun., July 9, at the Willow Creek Golf Course, 140 Army Post Road, in West Des Moines.
The event’s Scramble featuring amputees, physically challenged, and adaptive individuals, sponsors, and friends will be played at noon on Fri., July 7 as a four-person, best-shot competition, via shotgun start. A free Adaptive Golf Clinic will be held July 7 from 8:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. featuring coaches from the USAGA and the Iowa Golf Association providing instruction and tips to help players get the most out of their game. It is not necessary to be registered for the tournament to participate in the clinic.
Golf commences Sat., July 8 and Sun., July 9 at 8 a.m., with amputee, those with limb loss, and other physically challenged and adaptive golfers competing in one of several flights. On Sunday, golfers will be paired according to their previous day’s score. Trophies will be awarded for first through third place in each division. The tournament winner will be the person with the lowest two-day score in any division. A reception will follow play on Saturday at which the IAGA will announce recipients of its annual scholarships.
