The Des Moines City Council approved funding for travel expenses for Senior Police Officer Eric Hartman and Captain David Ness to visit Chicago, Illinois, from Oct. 23-28 for the 2015 International Association of Chiefs of Police Conference. The conference offered educational opportunities on leadership, community policing, public safety and other important issues in law enforcement. More than 650 vendors were available to demonstrate the latest tech systems for in-car video, digital evidence storage, body cameras, emergency radio communication and data-driven policing. This came at a combined cost of $3,192.48 to local taxpayers. CV
