Travel
The Des Moines City Council approved funding for travel expenses for Sergeant Ryan Doty to visit Jacksonville, Florida, from Aug. 3-6. Doty will attend a training called “Managing the Patrol FPO Program” sponsored by the Institute of Police Technology and Management. The training will assist in strengthening and updating Police Field Training Officer program, and it will help implement changes that will better assist new officers in their duties, as well as avoiding civil liabilities due to poor lack of training. This comes at a cost of $1,664 to taxpayers. CV
