The Des Moines City Council approved funding the travel expenses for Fire Protection Engineer Patrick Phelan to attend the Society of Fire Protection Engineers 2014 SFPE Conference and Expo in Long Beach, California, from Oct. 11-17. The conference will provide associated training seminars on various topics in the industry, providing the opportunity for professional development, training and networking with other representatives in the fire protection agency. This comes at a cost of $3,115 to taxpayers. CV
