The Des Moines City Council approved RMS/DMS specialist John Petersen to travel to Minneapolis, Minn., from Oct. 20-23, where he received training offered by Hands On Training, Inc., covering SQL Server 2012 Reporting Services, which focus on setting up SQL Reporting Services, configuring the application and writing advanced reports. The Police Department’s RMS system operates on the SQL database platform, so the city officials felt the training was necessary to maintain the current level of reporting. This came at a $2,321 cost to local taxpayers. CV
