Spring is here, summer is near and warmer weather means outdoor entertainment venues are opening. Jasper Winery is one such hotspot, and it will begin its weekly Thursday evening summer concert series starting May 20 with the Brian Herrin Band, free admission.

Middlebrook Farm in Cumming — across from Iowa Distilling Company — also kicks off its weekly “Fridays at the Farm” offerings. The event starts at 4:30 p.m. and boasts food trucks, a farmers market with fresh produce, and free outdoor music. String Prophets take the stage on May 14 while Matt Woods plays on May 28.

Pack a picnic lunch and treat Mom to tunes by the Retro Rockets at Summerset Winery on Mother’s Day, May 9, in Indianola. $5 cover.

The Central Iowa Blues Society and Fat Tuesday Productions are offering two Memorial Day weekend Springfest celebrations on Sunday, May 30. Head over to the Cellar at White Oak in Cambridge for music starting at 2 p.m. with Midnight Dogs and Ducharme Jones. Jasper Winery also offers Springfest from 3-10 p.m. More bands for both venues to be announced. Free admission.

Big Country Bash announced Jon Pardi, Lee Brice, Brett Young, Scotty McCreery, Ingrid Andress and more will perform Friday, July 2 and Saturday, July 3, at Avenue of the Saints Amphitheater in St. Charles.
