The eternal boy band, The Beach Boys, a staple for more than 50 years, performs at Stephens Auditorium in Ames on May 8. One original member, Mike Love, remains with the group. Tickets cost $54.50-$74.50.

Rapper and singer Belcalis “Bacardi” Almanzar, better known as Cardi B, with 40 million Instagram followers, performs at Wells Fargo Arena on May 3. Tickets start at $49.50 from www.hyveetix.com

Lefty’s Live Music features Tej’ai Sullivan in Michael Jackson — Return of the King on March 22. Tickets $10 in advance.   

Hoyt Sherman Place is a hotspot for upcoming entertainment. Amos Lee, singer of “Arms of a Woman” and other hits, plays on March 27. The Charlie Daniels Band is looking for the devil on March 29. Instead, he might find a bad-to-the-bone singer — George Thorogood and The Destroyers, when they return to Hoyt on April 28. Melissa Etheridge brings her Medicine Show on June 20. The iconic 70s classic rocker, Steve Miller Band performs on June 13 at Wells Fargo Arena.

The Iowa State Fair grandstand acts are nearly filled. The latest booking is Foreigner, with Night Ranger opening the Aug. 15 performance, and Pentatonix will play the fair on Aug. 17. ♦
