A couple of recent big announcements from Wells Fargo Arena has music fans excited. Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers will make stop in Des Moines in celebration of their 40th anniversary tour on June 5, 2017. And speaking of anniversaries, Neil Diamond will mark his 50th in the music biz by playing the arena on May 21, 2017. First on stage, though, will be Eric Church, who will perform there on Jan. 19, 2017 at 8 p.m. Tickets for all events are on sale Hy-VeeTix.com, the Wells Fargo Arena ticket office, by phone at 844-55-HyVee, or any Des Moines Area or Ames Hy-VeeTix.com locations. Lyle Lovett and John Hiatt will be making a tour stop Des Moines on Thursday, Feb. 23, 2017 at Hoyt Sherman Place. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., with the show beginning at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are currently on sale for the all-ages show. Reserved ticket prices are $66 and $59 plus fees. Also at Hoyt Sherman Place this spring will be The Flaming Lips, who announced an April 22 Des Moines date. Showtime is 7:30 p.m. Tickets are on sale for both events and can be purchased in person at the Hoyt Sherman Place Box Office, charged by phone at 800-745-3000 or online at www.ticketmaster.com. ♦
