The Iowa State Fair continues to roll out grandstand artists for this year’s event. Most recently, a trio of Rock and Roll Hall of Famers were announced, as Cheap Trick, Joan Jett and Heart will play on Tuesday, Aug. 16. Tickets go on sale on March 26 and will run $32, $42 or $52. That show joins Newsboys on Aug. 11, Brett Eldgredge on Aug. 13, Jason Derulo on Aug. 14, Dierks Bentley on Aug. 15, and Jeff Dunham on Aug. 18.

Nitefall on the River also continues to flesh out their dates for this summer, recently adding Bruce Hornsby on Friday, May 20. Those tickets went on sale last Friday and are available at www.nitefalldsm.com.

This week’s Pick o’ the Week is at Lefty’s where long-time Des Moines punk act The Real Action will be playing its farewell show on Friday, March 18. The show starts at 9 p.m. Mahalo. CV
